Clear agreements help us organize events, equipment rental and activities properly and safely. Below are the general principles that apply to bookings with Strength Events Group (SEG).
1. Who we are and when these terms apply
Strength Events Group is the business of Dennis Polman in Nijmegen, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 64308219. You can reach us at dennis@strengtheventsgroup.eu. Our business details are on the contact page.
These terms apply when we make them available to you before or when the agreement is concluded and declare them applicable. Visiting our website alone does not make you a party to an agreement. The terms apply to services you book with SEG, such as equipment rental, event support, workshops and training. When you book with another provider, that provider’s terms apply; a reference on our website does not automatically make SEG the organizer or seller.
Specific agreements confirmed in writing in the quotation or booking confirmation take precedence. Mandatory statutory rights, including consumer rights, always remain applicable. This version does not change existing agreements retrospectively.
2. Quotations and bookings
The quotation or booking confirmation describes the activity or equipment, date, location, price and any arrangements for transport, setup, supervision and payment. An enquiry through the contact form is not a confirmed booking. An agreement is concluded when the offer is accepted in accordance with the procedure described in it.
Provide information needed to carry out the booking in good time, such as access to and suitability of the location, the number of participants and any specific requirements. Report errors in the confirmation as soon as possible.
3. Prices, payment and additional work
The agreed price and payment deadline are stated in the quotation or confirmation. Offers to consumers state the total price including VAT and unavoidable costs. Business quotations clearly state whether the price excludes VAT. A security deposit, advance payment or transport charge applies only if agreed in advance.
Additional work or equipment is discussed in advance and charged only after approval. A later change to our published rates does not change an already agreed price. In the event of late payment, we first contact you; interest and collection costs are charged only to the extent permitted by law, including the free payment reminder required for consumers.
4. Changes, cancellations and the statutory cooling-off period
Want to change or cancel a booking? Contact us in writing as soon as possible. Specific cancellation arrangements apply only if clearly agreed in advance and permitted by law. Without such an arrangement, the statutory rules for the relevant agreement apply; there is no automatic rule that all payments are forfeited or that the full amount is always due.
Consumers can withdraw from many distance contracts within 14 days. Statutory exceptions exist, including for certain leisure activities on a specific date or during a specific period. This exception does not automatically apply to every service or rental. Before booking, we inform you of the cooling-off period applicable to your agreement and, where applicable, how to use it. You can also notify us of withdrawal by a clear statement sent by email.
If a service starts during the cooling-off period at your express request, only the proportionate payment permitted by law may be due upon withdrawal. Any right of withdrawal is lost after full performance only if the statutory conditions have been met.
5. Delivery of services and safety
SEG carries out the agreed work with care and provides appropriate instructions for using equipment and taking part in activities. Strength activities involve physical risks. Follow instructions, use equipment only for the agreed purpose and within your capabilities, and stop if you experience pain, an unsafe situation or uncertainty.
Discuss any necessary adjustments with the instructor beforehand. Do not send medical records or diagnoses through the general contact form. Participation is not a medical assessment or a guarantee of a particular training result. For participants under 18, appropriate arrangements are made in advance with the parent, guardian or client.
Where there is a specific safety risk, threatening behaviour or a failure to follow instructions, we may interrupt the relevant equipment use or participation. The financial consequences are assessed according to the circumstances, agreements and law; payments are not automatically forfeited.
6. Equipment rental and the location
For rentals, we record which equipment is supplied, for what period and who is responsible for transport, setup and supervision. Check the equipment on receipt and report visible defects or missing items immediately. Stop using equipment if it is defective or unsafe and contact us.
The hirer is responsible during the rental period for careful use, appropriate storage and security, and timely return in the agreed condition. Normal wear and tear is not damage. In the event of loss or damage, we assess the cause, any liability and the demonstrable loss. The replacement price for a new item is not automatically charged. Do not pass equipment to another party or modify it without prior agreement.
The client provides the access, working space and suitable ground surface agreed in advance. Responsibilities for permits, site facilities and supervision are recorded in the booking agreement.
7. Unforeseen circumstances
In the event of dangerous weather or another obstacle, for example, we discuss a safe and reasonable solution as soon as possible. An alternative date or materially different service is not imposed without your agreement. If an agreed service cannot be delivered, advance payments for the undelivered part are refunded when the agreement is terminated for that part, without prejudice to other statutory rights.
8. Damage and liability
Statutory rules apply to damage and liability. These terms do not generally exclude liability for shortcomings on SEG’s part. Participation in an activity alone does not waive your statutory rights. A claim for damages is assessed with regard to, among other things, the cause, circumstances and each party’s responsibilities.
Report an incident or damage as soon as reasonably possible so we can investigate and limit further damage. Keep an eye on your personal belongings as far as possible; any liability for loss or theft is also assessed according to law.
9. Personal data, photos and video
We use data needed for an enquiry or booking to process and carry it out and to meet related obligations. Participation does not automatically provide consent for unlimited promotional use of identifiable images. An appropriate legal basis is required for image use. You can send us questions or an objection to a photo with a link or a clear description.
10. Questions, complaints and disputes
Not satisfied with something? Email us with a description of your complaint and the relevant booking. We aim to provide a substantive response within 14 days. If we need more time, we will let you know. This period does not limit your statutory rights.
Agreements with SEG are governed by Dutch law. Consumers retain the protection of mandatorily applicable law and access to the court that has jurisdiction under the law.
